IT Software Engineer- TS/SCI

Department: Corporate Headquarters
Location: Chantilly, VA

This position is located in Reston, VA. Candidates must possess an active TS/SCI clearance to apply and be considered an applicant.

The Software Engineering team is comprised of software engineers and software architects. The team supports determining the operational feasibility of the new capabilities by evaluating analysis, user needs, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions. Thy provide support to the definition, design, development, integration, testing and verification, fielding, and eventual termination/disposal of the system and system components.  They also participate in and/or analyze testing results of the software code reviews with the development contractors, support regression testing of software phase releases, and help troubleshoot and analyze root cause of any system anomalies/discrepancies.  The team also works with the program control function to perform life-cycle system planning, business information planning (cost and schedule support), and act as subject matter experts at the CIO/PM governance boards.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • 5 years experience
  • Bachelorís Degree
  • TS/SCI clearance

 Requirements/Abilities:

  • Support software architecture development, requirements analysis, design, selection and evaluation of COTS/GOTS applications, and integration of new capabilities with both new and legacy systems.
  • Develop formal specifications, data flow diagrams, and other accepted design techniques and utilize Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools.
  • Oversee implementation of software solutions for enhancement and discrepancy issues.
  • Work closely with customer counterparts, interacting continuously to understand the needs and propose new capabilities and modifications as the baseline architecture evolves over time.
  • Support the software build and release processes by helping coordinate and review critical testing and baseline freeze, and preparation of release materials including software and documentation.
  • Ensure the use of sound software engineering principles are being employed by the development contractors to ensure that developed code is modifiable, efficient, reliable, understandable, and fault tolerant.
  • Support development testing meetings such as Sprint planning, Technical Interchange meetings, and testing events.
  • Support the maintenance of the software baseline using an industry standard version control system (Subversion) for a large datasets and information management systems. 
  • Support administration and configuration of project tracking and/or collaboration COTS applications such as JIRA, Rally, VersioneOne, SharePoint, AgileCraft, etc.
  • Additional requirements may include support of the customer SharePoint instances to include the use of current web-developing tools for a Microsoft-oriented enterprise environment and the identification and resolution of automation and information technology software issues and problems for the customer.
  • Maintain a standard look and feel throughout the assigned network web sites in coordination with the customer point of contact.
  • Ensure all products developed comply with the program Configuration Management Plan and security requirements.
  • Supports the acquisition of software licenses by obtaining required information from vendors, evaluate and test COTS options, and recommend purchases.
  • Experience with systems engineering and software development life cycles.
  • Experience with a variety of software development methodologies such as SCRUM, Waterfall, SAFe, etc.
